It’s about time I post about the hat. This is, of course, the L.L. Bean Women’s Ultrawarm Bomber Hat, and it is the entire reason this blog exists. I wanted the exact same hat Jack had, and luckily for me, other people had the same question. As it turns out, knowing AJR buys a lot of low-end brands makes for the world’s most niche scavenger hunt. Regardless, Jack has stated in countless interviews that it is a woman’s hat. He also buys a bunch of them for tour to toss to the crowd — it was about 100 for the OKO tour, as stated in a 2022 interview. At $45 a hat, that’s approximately $4500 in hats, pre-tax. If only AJR circa 2014 could see that one day, they’d be spending thousands of dollars on hundred copies of a single hat; I wonder what they’d say?

I recommend watching sites like eBay and Poshmark. The good news is that these aren't super uncommon. They come in navy (like Jack’s) and white. L.L. Bean also puts them back in stock in winter months. You can search for the exact name, but “ll bean trapper hat” and “ll bean bomber hat” are good searches to start with.
