This has got to be one of Adam’s most iconic shirts, and quite possibly, one of his favorites. While not an expensive item, this shirt is exceptionally rare. He’s had it since The Click, likely obtained during the collaboration with Original Penguin for the Come Hang Out music video (although it doesn't show up in the video). He’s worn it in everything from photoshoots to radio appearances to recent sustainability posts. Adam actually owns this same shirt in both blue and red, but the black has gotten the most use. This shirt holds a particularly special spot in my heart, as he wore it the first time I ever saw AJR live!

WHERE YOU CAN GET YOURS: You have to be super careful about this. Original Penguin has made many henleys in their time. Make sure it’s NOT listed as “waffle knit.” The buttons are white, the embroidered penguin is black, and the label inside has blue text, not red text. It is also speckled and has blue fabric near the buttons. This took me a while to get my hands on. I recommend watching sites like eBay and Poshmark for new listings. Searching “Original Penguin black henley” is a good place to start.
